Undoubtedly, London offers some of the best European Christmas markets with lots of sweets, handcrafted products, delicious crêpes, churros and German BBQ as well as enough mulled wine to serve the whole nation!
In this post, I will guide you through my favorite Christmas markets in London. Let’s go!
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland
It is hard to beat Winder Wonderland in Hyde Park, London. Here, you will find everything for the Christmas lover. It is free to enter although you have to pass controls {they will check your bag and will ask you to throw away liquids to prevent any incidents}.
In Winter Wonderland, you can browse the 100+ fairy-lit Bavarian-style wooden chalets in the Bavarian area, you can buy tickets to ice skate or check out one of the shows, including Paddington on Ice.

Christmas by the river
The iconic Christmas by the river at London Bridge City is something you cannot miss when in London! It opened with a vintage ski theme in 2019 and offers 70+ chalet-style stalls selling gifts, food and drinks against the beautiful backdrop of the Tower Bridge.
This is one of London’s most picturesque Christmas markets.
Christmas by the river | 11:00-22:00 Mon-Sun from 26th Nov until 5th Jan | 1 mulled wine is about 5£.
Christmas market at Southbank Center
This one was my favorite Christmas market in London, even though it’s not the most impressive I’ve ever seen. The Winter Market showcases traders from all around the world, offering an array of handmade gifts and street food from wooden chalets.
You can find organic products between Asian, Indian, and Greek cuisines, traditional Raclette and German Bratwurst as well as sweet treats.
Here, you can also find a Rekorderling Cider Lodge which is perfect to sit down, warm up and enjoy a delicious plum cider.
Winter Festival at Southbank Centre | open from 8th Nov until 5th Jan | 1 mulled wine or cider is about 5£.
Mulled wine & the view of the London Eye
Christmas at Trafalgar Square
Don’t miss this Christmas market! It’s a lot smaller than the other ones but it feels more familiar and you can even join the carol singers under one of the world’s most famous Christmas trees. The 25-metre high tree is a gift from the people of Norway to London, in thanks for Britain’s support in World War II.
Christmas at Trafalgar Square| 10:00-22:00 Mon-Sun from 8th Nov until 5th Jan | 1 mulled wine is about 5£.
Of course, there are more Christmas markets in London than five. These were just my personal favorites. 🙂
