Review - Hotel Le A in Paris

When planning a trip, I always attach great importance to the location of the hotel I will be staying at. From past experience I know that there is nothing worse than a bad location! When I first visited Paris in December 2019, I booked a hotel 5km from the Eiffel Tower. I thought it’d be okay since I could take the metro. Little did I know that the metro would not work during my stay and that it takes a lot of time as well. Therefore, this review of Hotel Le A should help you with your travel plans!

Especially in Paris, there are so many hotels, making it difficult to choose one. Keeping an overview is almost impossible since there is already another hotel around the corner. That is why honest reviews are important. Before I decide to book a hotel, I read through tons of reviews and either decide to stay there or avoid it at all cost. However, this is the reason for this review about my stay at Hotel Le A in Paris.

Transfer to Hotel Le A

Since we were traveling by car, it was no problem to reach Hotel Le A. However, if you are arriving by plane, you should know that the closest airports are Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly. From the airport, it will take you around 60 minutes to get to the city center by public transportation. It is, of course, faster if you take a taxi or an Uber. But fortunately, the hotel is only 130m from a metro stop.

Check-In

Check-in is scheduled from from 3pm. Check-out is at 12pm. On arrival at Hotel Le A, we were greeted in the lobby and although we arrived prior to 3pm, our room was already done and we were welcomed with a hot coffee and Macarons. I personally find this small gesture very nice and think that they make a positive impression directly on arrival.

Tip: During these challenging times, the check-in and check-out are contactless. I think that’s really great because it prevents the spread of viruses and bacteria.

Design

Hotel Le A is a very modern boutique hotel that shines in style. I remember that we walked past this hotel during our first stay in Paris and I told Florian that it looks super cool and modern.

When you first enter the hotel, you’ll find yourself in a stylish lobby. From there it continues into the bright, open and glass-covered breakfast room/bar. An elevator takes you to the room, which is also decorated in bright colors. Some rooms have a balcony, which is typical for Paris.

Rooms

The hotel has 26 rooms in total, and seven different room categories. The smallest room starts at 15 sq. m. whereas the biggest room is 50 sq. m. We stayed at one of their junior suites with a balcony and enjoyed it to the fullest!

Particularly, we liked the modern design, spacious bathroom with a rain shower and the possibility to have breakfast on the balcony. We also found the sound density to be particularly good, because when the window was closed you could not hear any noise outside.

Common Areas

The only common areas at Hotel Le A are the lobby and the breakfast room. However, the lobby is comfortably furnished with plenty of seating and equipped with books and board games.

Fortunately, the tables in the breakfast room were so far apart that social distancing was possible.

Location

As said in the introduction, location is key and Hotel Le A is just perfect. It’s only five minutes to the Champs-Élysées and 130m to the next metro stop. So, if you want to make a day trip to Versailles, you do not have to walk far.

Food & Beverages

Hotel Le A offers breakfast and afternoon tea included in your booking price – if you choose the package with breakfast.

Breakfast is a very typical Parisian breakfast with croissants, pain au chocolat, French yoghurt, fruit salad, cheese, eggs, baguette, crêpes, and everything you are dreaming of! Honestly, Hotel Le A leaves no wish unfulfilled. If you want, you can even get freshly squeezed fruit juice.

Normally, the hotel breakfast is a buffet, but due to corona you need to order your breakfast either at the table or to your room. Simply call the reception and tell them what you want. Typically, breakfast is done really quick and you do not have to wait long.

Of course, the eggs are always cooked as ordered and the hotel also offers vegan and gluten-free options on request.

In the afternoon, from 4 pm to 6pm, you can have afternoon tea in the hotel. They serve finest tea, fresh juice, fruits, macarons and crêpes.

Service

Generally speaking, this was the warmest and most perfect service I could imagine. Whenever you left or entered the hotel, the staff always greeted and asked if everything was okay or even if you were fine. I loved this personal touch about the hotel very much.

Moreover, the breakfast service was also very attentive. Whenever we ran out of orange juice, coffee or anything else, they made sure to re-fill it immediately. I honestly never stayed at such a welcoming, caring hotel before. They really make sure that your stay in Paris is the best.

Value for Money

The hotel is in the medium price range and base rooms tend to cost from €199 per night and the junior suite from €299 per night. With the location and service of the boutique hotel, Hotel Le A is definitely worth every penny and has a great price-performance ratio.

Given the overall resume of the hotel, it’s absolutely worth it and has a great price-performance ratio.

Summary

To us, the most important things when staying at a hotel are: location, cleanliness, feeling comfortable and being able to enjoy our stay. Hotel Le A absolutely scored in all points. That’s why we’d highly recommend Hotel Le A and we’ll definitely come back.
